Author Shayla Black (AKA Shelley Bradley)

I love Halloween, not tho for the dressing up, but for the paranormal reads! I love a great many paranormal themes and authors. Have you read the Doomsday Brethan series by Shayla Black?

From Shayla Black's Doomsday Brethan series site:

In today’s world of technology, science and logic, few people realize that magic lives and breathes-and walks on two legs-among mortals. Or that magickind possesses a weapon that can hurt, heal, comfort, destroy, grant fantasies, bring peace. Or, in the hands of someone terrible and strong enough to call forth its power, the weapon can bring about Doomsday.

Created during the days of the Round Table, it resurfaces in modern-day London and is sought by a wizard of evil brilliance with one goal: dominion over human and magical worlds alike. Only a band of wizards, enemies who must learn to become friends and accept love, can save the world from destruction.

To learn more about the wizard warriors who defend magickind from evil, Meet the Doomsday Brethren.

The characters and the stories...those wizard warrior heroes...in the Doomsday Brethren series so sizzled! I so loved the first book in the series, TEMPT ME WITH DARKNESS. Just recently book two, SEDUCE ME IN SHADOWS was out and today book 3, POSSESS ME AT MIDNIGHT is out today October 27, 2009!

Shayla Black too has a free read, FATED, related to this series so stop by at Shayla Black's SITE ( http://doomsdaybrethren.com/ ) to read all about these yummy warriors!

If you enjoy Contemporary Erotic romance, she has a great series, Wicked Lovers on the bookshelf at her SITE .

Shayla Black also writes as a mainstream romance author as Shelley Bradley. I started reading her historical romances under Shelley Bradley a few years ago and one of those books was re-released by Samhain. She has lots to offer in mainstream romance, including Conteompary Romance with Jaci Burton. So look out for the books too at her Bradley SITE ttp://www.shelleybradley.com/

Midnight Medusa by Stephanie Draven

Title: MIDNIGHT MEDUSA
Author: Stephanie Draven
Publisher: EHarlequin

Blurb (author's site)

Renata Rukavina is a budding new artist and a survivor of the Bosnian War. Is it her fault that when she sculpts war criminals, they die mysteriously in their jail cells? The coincidence attracts gallery visitors, but before Renata can enjoy her burgeoning fame, she is kidnapped.

When her abductor tries to convince her that he’s an immortal who inspires and feeds upon fear, Renata thinks he’s a madman. Even so, she soon finds that he’s powerfully attractive and the only man who understands her rage. But is it out of love that he forces Renata to face the fears of her past, or is he secretly the source of all her pain?

This review is one of many reviews you will see up that I had lost and am re-writing as they are still fresh with me. Even though I read this book in April when it was released, its emotions that this story brought forth were still with me and so wanted to re-read before writing this review. It is just as beautiful to read now as before and so much more I felt this time reading it. Just starting with the first and few paragraphs, you will be absorbed into Renata's haunting past as a child in Bosnia and her current memories of agony she is struggling with. Renata's a sculptural and had done her art of sculpturing the war criminals that were on trial. Until this time, she has been under great fear to testify and these war criminals have been dying before she does testify. Renata is kidnapped by a Greek god of war, during the time she's doing an exhibit of War Criminals in a museum, she is kidnapped by Damon (Demos, one of the twin sons of Ames). Damon wants to protect Renata from the other gods of war from using her skills and help her understand who she is as a gorgon. As he also has the skill to take away her fear, they become one in love to do whats righteous for those to be punished for the war crimes.

Set in many settings as he takes to hide her from the others, this author gives you the whole feel of her surroundings including all the senses of visual, taste and so much emotional. With flashbacks of her childhood, she lived as a victim in fear until she met Damon. Together they reach so many heights of happiness together that both never had through life. With the awesome themes within this story, the reader will want to read even more about the Greek gods and mythology that was so skillfully blended into this fulfilling paranormal romance story! After a second read of this, I'm on a cloud nine of the emotions I went through reading this and the growth of the characters that the author Stephanie Draven so brilliantly portrayed as realistic with Damon and Renata. I'm now planning to read her second Nocturne Bites available now, WILD, TETHERED, BOUND too sounds like another unique read!

Catching up: Ebooks, Reviewing, Computer crash, Mailing books and more!

Frederic Brazille - The Pink Dress

I have much to catch up with! I promise this will be my only post of woes and about reading thereon! Those who won books to look out for them soon. I have them all packaged to go. I apologize dearly since I'm usually sending things out weekly but due to some set backs in my health, each day has been hard for me. So if I disappear for a bit, know I'm healing up! Also during that time, my computer totally went! I know its just a computer but when you have so much on it, it can be quite devastating to lose so much! As for the computer, I lost everything I had in my reader to review as well as notes I had on books I had already read and was writing reviews on , many ebooks, reviews done, etc. So I'm starting totally from scratch looking for the emails of who I owe reviews to, so please do contact me and I'll then get it up and back on my way with it all! I apologize since I so love to read and get this info out to readers and especially to the authors who so trusted me to review for them. I so can't wait to share with the readers some great reads to check out. (I highly recommend a backup, like those portable hard drives. I now have my ebooks in that and notes and much other backup on it. I got a Seagate FreeAgent Go external portable hard-drive. My hubby got a great deal on it so shop around. I got the smallest one but still lots of room! I'm no computer expert (obvious) so this is what I was suggested to do for back up but there are other ideas out there.

While resting and between appointments, I did mostly reading on of my prints until I had my computer fixed. Just a log of some I read below. Right now I'm reading the 3rd book of Pamela Palmer's Feral Warriors series, PASSION UNTAMED. This is a great shape shifter paranormal romance series. It does have some dark and violent parts more than I usually see in this genre, but the story itself is awesome and the romance passionate!

Here's some other reads I read and recommend:

PINK ICE by Susanna Carr. Its four stories in one centered around a theme of pink ice earrings and steamy romance! I had a great time reading these contemporary erotic romance stories!

THE LOVE POTION by Sandra Hill. This is the start of her theme of her Cajun romances. I love this author!

TALL, DARK & CAJUN by Sandra Hill. This is book two of the Cajun romance series. I love the humor, great mood lifting reads that helped me lots!

THE DEVILISH PLEASURES OF A DUKE by Jillian Hunter, book 6 of the Boscastle series. This is the Boscastle series of brothers, sisters, cousins and more. This author's regency historical romances are addicting reads! I finally have book 7, WICKED AS SIN and will be reading shortly. Her new Boscastle book was just out September 22, A WICKED LORD AT THE WEDDING which I hope to get soon.

I'm filling up my ebook reader of books I just bought and those I was able to not lose! So watch for some upcoming posts about Devlin Delilah, Maggi Anderson, Joely Sue Burkhart, Evie Byrne, Stephanie Julian and more!

I must start logging what I read. I read ebooks too and other prints but don't have a list to recommend. That I shall be doing from now on! Looking forward to catching up with you all on your blogs! Miss you friends! Happy reading.
