Happy new years friends, readers & authors! Looking forward to posting more this year, even if its just to post on what I'm reading because as you know, I love to chat about books and hear what YOU are reading! Later this week I'm posting on a short story from author Holli Winters, PARIS BY MOONLIGHT, a holiday story. Too will be offering up her ebook as a giveaway. It will be fun to post another review of her books, as it was a perfect evening romantic read!

I'm right now finishing up a series of books of the Song of the Muses available in ebook, but too available in print of 3 anthologies, from The Wild Rose Press. (I so would love to get the prints, I need to now start saving again!) I had read a couple when they first came out at, but wasn't able to get the rest then. Recently over the last several weeks, I got the rest of the series. While reading one, then the next, I just so elated and absorbed in reading these. I hardly know nothing in Mythology except what I learned in romance books I read! And I'll keep it that way! I do like to look up more on certain legends and the like (like who was Eros, Greek god of Love, whew), just like I do with some themes I find when reading a Historical romance (like what 'Maypole was). I've been so elated getting back to the Song of the Muses series written by 9 different authors at The Wild Rose Press. I've been so into them, so excited that I don't want any romance readers to miss these! They will be ones that I plan to re-read! Again, they were so fun, some humorous, all so romantic and just great, so creative unique stories! You must get and read ALL. I didn't want to miss any!

As muses refers to what inspires us, these 9 Greek muses
were said to inspire writers, musicians, painters, comedians
and basically us all. I'm so no excerpt in this so getting info
from all over where I'm reading. This info abbreviated from
Greek Myths & Greek Mythology and Theoi Greek Mythology
These Songs of the Muses series are bases on the 9 Greek muses: Clio, Calliope, Terpsichore, Euterpe, Erato, Melpomene, Thalia, Urania & Polyhymnia. I found a great site that explains the each of the 9 Greek Muses at Greek Myths & Greek Mythology: Nine Muses of Greek Mythology Basically they are known for:
Clio - Protector and Muse of History
Euterpe - Protector and Muse of lyric poetry.
Thalia - Protector and Muse of comedy.
Melpomene - Protector and Muse of Tragedy
Terpsichore - Protector and Muse of dancing
Erato - Protectors and Muse of erotic poetry.
Polyhymnia - Protector and Muse of hymns
Urania - Protector and Muse of Astronomy
Calliope - Protector and Muse of epic poetry.
You don't have to know details for the stories, cuz the authors blend this theme right into them beautifully! But if you like me and want to know more, you can check that out and too some great sites on Mythology posted above.
These books are absolutely wonderful! I so hope this group of authors does another theme like this in romance. So thanks to the authors (press on their names and it will bring you to their sites): Hywela Lyn, Sky Purington, Skhye Moncrief, Masha Holl, Alisha Paige, Reece Herring, Robyn Wren (Robyn Porter), Michele Hart & Valerie Everhart (unable to find a site or current blog.)
Here is what I read/am reading of the series!:
You too can find all the books listed HERE : or the individual links below!
Song of the Muses:
Alisha Paige - A Love Beyond Time,Clio (Song of the Muses)
Cursed for mocking Aphrodite, the goddess of love, Clio, muse of history and her lover are thrust back in time to the Salem witch trials and then the Italian Renaissance. Only love can save them both, but is it enough? Is their love A LOVE BEYOND TIME?
Skhye Moncrief - Ancient Musing, Calliope (Song Of The Muses)
Disgusted with her lack of purpose, Calliope is learning all too well the warning in be careful what you wish for. She challenged Zeus and landed in Hades. Now she needs to reach Gaia’s pool to save herself from the Land of the Dead’s darkness. Little did she expect a psyche to reveal the path to tomorrow.
The soul of archaeologist, Jake Genoese, is bored to tears until he finds the beautiful Calliope, intriguing and bearing the token he needs to jumpstart his day-excursion on the afterlife’s cruise to nowhere.
One’s light brightens the other’s future as Olympians vie for power by toying with psyches in the Kingdom of Hades, for nothing more than the simple whims of ANCIENT MUSINGS.
Hywela Lyn - Dancing With Fate, Terpsichore (Song of the Muses)
Terpsichore's task, to restore a love of dancing to the folk of Wales, seems simple. However, all is not as it seems. Danger follows. Legends are threatened. She had not meant to lose her heart or to have to save the man she loves by dancing with Fate.
Robyn Wren - Destiny's Light, Euterpe (Song of the Muses)
They’d always been sent to help mortals. Euterpe had longed to return, to provide her gifts to another human. Her chance to go back had come. If she’d known what would happen next she might have had second thoughts. Ceris was a loner, never one to surround himself with others, music was his only source of company. He could feel the words hidden deep inside but could not unlock them from his soul. Could the woman he saves help? By saving her could he save himself? Hounded by the shadows of Hades, will Ceris be able to save Euterpe from the pursuits of the Dark God or will he lose his soul as he fights for her past? As the bond between them grows from a spark to a white hot flame, will their newfound love be enough to save them both from the darkness and bring them into Destiny’s Light.
Reece Herring - Erato's Tears, Erato (Song of the Muses)
A powerful love is cut tragically short. Beyond Hades domain their destiny burns eternally bright. Two lost souls search through time to discover their hidden passion. In Delphi, Mathias, an outcast Spartan finds a reason at last to abandon his wanderlust in the vulnerable Ambrosia. With the unseen aid of Erato, he tries desperately to conquer her hatred of warriors and bring peace to his unsettled soul. A tenuous hold on love develops, but will their untried bond endure? Can the Muse of Love overcome the destructive power of one god's revenge, and right the wrongs of history? Only ERATOS TEARS will determine.
Sky Purington - Highland Muse, Melpomene (Song of the Muses)
Melpomene, muse of Tragedy, has loved before, but not like this. Not so thoroughly it blinds her, tears her from her path and her obligation to mankind. A warrior of Scotland, one she watched grow from a boy to a man, claims her heart with his self-sacrifice and courage. She’ll not let him perish, die defending another. Stepping in, defying fate and her father, Zeus, Melpomene risks all.
Rowan Stewart, of the royal house, is immersed within a whirlwind of disbelief, struggling to understand the woman responsible for his odd outcome, his misplaced life. But promises were made, destiny yet sealed, and Ares, God of War, seeks him. Caught within a vortex of Scottish politics, Greek Gods, and newfound desire, Rowan and Melpomene are doomed to separate, wallow in eternal despair. Will love surpass? Give them each other? Or will tragedy reign without its muse and rip them apart forever?
Michele Hart - No Funny Stuff!, Thalia (Song of the Muses)
Something's Rotten at the Gates of Heaven.
Under conspiratorial inspiration of Olympian thrones, Thalia, the Muse of Comedy, sends a blessing of love and laughter to Drew Murphy, a young man cursed to a short and miserable life.
But when her favorite messenger Daisy Sullivan accidentally launches the magic --wrong time, wrong place, wrong method, wrong everything!-- Thalia must force to light buried secrets of a millennia-old family curse and face down a most vengeful Immortal on his own bloody stage if she wishes to free both Drew and Daisy from an unJust fate.
Ares, the God of War, loves only one thing as much as he loves bloodshed....How's Thalia supposed to make THAT funny? At least, she's wearing her best sandals!
Masha Holl - The Brightest Heaven, Urania (Song of the Muses)
Urania, muse of Astronomy, is disconsolate: technology flourishes, but true creativity seems lost. Then she meets Daniel Kettering, an astrophysicist who shines with inspiration. But he's about to make a discovery which will threaten time, space, and every existing world. The Olympians order Urania to carry an ultimatum for Daniel: forget your research and get eternal life. Or else. But first, Urania and Daniel have to figure out who stole Daniel's research, save the universe, and defeat Chaos; and maybe find happiness.
Valerie Everhart - The Victory of Lugh, Polyhymnia (Song of the Muses)
Hymnia, the muse of glorious praise, in an unusual display of arrogance is thrust through time to the dark ages of Ireland. She encounters Dacien, the Laird of Castle Lugh, a rogue dragon who seems anything but god-like. She uncovers the mystery of the disappearing women of his castle but looses her heart to the very person she suspects of doing the killing, in THE VICTORY OF LUGH.
